Kirsten is a board-certified psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner that specializes in treating patients with a holistic and integrative approach focusing on root-cause resolution. She believes that mental healthcare treatment is not limited to just medications and therapy. It involves looking at other areas of an individual’s life as well including current stressors, stress management, trauma, past experiences, relationship dynamics, utilization of resources, support systems, overall health, and lifestyle. She follows evidence-based practice with an emphasis on trauma-informed patient-centered care, incorporating evidence-informed complementary and alternative treatments as well.

Our mission
Mental health exists on a spectrum, encompassing a wide range of experiences from distress to well-being. Everyone faces mental health challenges to some degree—no one is immune to life's stressors. Yet, mental health is often the most overlooked aspect of overall wellness. If society placed as much emphasis on addressing mental health as it does on physical health, I believe we would see a profound shift in countless areas of life. Improved mental health could foster better relationships, create more positive environments, reduce crime, encourage better decision-making, boost productivity, enhance overall health, and increase longevity. Most importantly, it would lead to more peace, less stress, and an improved quality of life for all.
It starts with decreasing stigma surrounding mental health, increasing self-awareness, increasing knowledge through education, guiding others to do the inner work, and addressing barriers to make mental healthcare more accessible for all. My goal is to help clients achieve an optimal state of mental wellness and empower them so they can actively work through the root causes of their challenges - healing from the inside out. Ultimately, I hope to make a lasting impact by helping as many people as I can throughout my lifetime.
FLOW THEORY
FLOW THEORY
Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (a pioneer in positive psychology) defined the concept of “flow” to describe the mental state of being fully immersed and energized in an activity, experiencing a sense of effortless control and enjoyment
I experience flow state when I’m doing something I love that enables my mind to feel connected and in tune with my body. I feel it when I’m engaged in my favorite activities (surfing, rock-climbing, spin, yoga) often having something to do with nature, movement, and community which have all been integral parts of my healing journey.
My goal for each client is to be able to help them connect with themselves so they can heal and get to a better mental state where they can cultivate a life that aligns with their authentic self, their needs, values, and beliefs to achieve some level of flow state, everything falls into place effortlessly, and they’re able to go through the ebbs and flows of life with no resistance.
Transcranial
Magnetic
Stimulation
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive non-medication treatment alternative for depression that’s FDA-approved for adults and adolescents. It’s indicated for treatment-resistant depression meaning that if a client has tried and failed two antidepressant medications, then insurance can cover it.
It is an evidence-based treatment with research demonstrating that NeuroStar TMS therapy has an 83% response rate and a 62% remission rates in real-world clinical practice. Click below to schedule a consultation for more information.
